Abstract

Zusammenfassung

Mit Hilfe vitalmikroskopischer und reflexionsspektrometrischer Untersuchungsmethoden wurden repräsentative Merkmale des Funktionszustandes der Mikrozirkulation und Änderungen immunologischer Verhaltensmerkmale weißer Blutzellen vor, während und nach Strahlen- und Chemotherapie bei Patienten mit HNO-Tumoren gemessen. Durch eine komplementäre Anwendung von standardisiertem Mistelextrakt (Iscador®) konnten unerwünschte Wirkungen der Strahlen- und Chemotherapie auf die Mikrozirkulation und das Immunsystem abgemildert und Restitutionsvorgänge beschleunigt werden.

Abstract

With the help of vitalmicroscopic and reflection-spectrometric examination methods, representative characteristics of the functional state of the microcirculation as well as changes of the immunological behavioral characteristics of white blood cells were measured before, during, and after a radiotherapy and chemotherapy in patients with ENT tumors. By a complementary application of a standardized mistletoe extract (Iscador®), it was possible to tone down the undesired effects of radiotherapy and chemotherapy on the microcirculation and the immune system and to accelerate restitution processes.
